About Me

There’s always a set of rules. Everywhere we go. Everything we do. There’s a rule for it. If you want to play a game, you have to follow the rules. If you want to drive a car, you have to follow the rules. If you want to hold a job, you have to follow the rules. I’ve never been a big fan of the rules, but I completely understand why they are there. I have never been the letter-of-the-law kind, but I do believe that the intent behind the rule should be acknowledged and (usually) adhered to. This blog is my way of sharing my thoughts, ideas, and my general craziness that might fit into a particular category, but not very neatly.

Outside the Linez is a great reflection of who I am. I like to color the picture but without the boundaries. I have two boys that I am trying to raise into great men, but I don’t always follow the parenting rule book. I homeschool my children because it works for us, but there are days that we veg out on TV. My kids will eat fresh fruits and/or vegetables every day, but they also get their fair share of sugar. Some days, my kids are great, and there are days that I’m embarrassed we even leave the house. But that unpredictability is what makes this life so much fun!

Speaking of unpredictable, my husband lives at the beck and call of the US Army. This is just as much fun as it is a pain in the butt. We “hurry up and wait” a lot, emphasis on the waiting portion. We move when the Army says we must, but being the rebel that I am, I try to stay at least 30 minutes to an hour away from the Army base because I don’t care fo rmilitary towns. But I love this life, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Given that this is an “About Me” section, one might like to know more about “me”.  My name is Erin T. As you know by now, I am the mother two of the sweetest boys around. I am originally from North Carolina (go Tarheels!) but currently live in Kentucky. I work in the healthcare field. I love my job, but I don’t like going to work. I love to travel and see new things, but I’m also a homebody and love my bed (do you see the contradiction that is my life!?). I love to have fun and do things spur of the moment, but I always have a plan in the back of my head for years down the road.

I hope that you find something, even if it’s just one article here, that helps you or speaks to you in some way. If you ever have any questions, comments, or just want to say hi, feel free to leave it below! I look forward to hearing from you!
